I have a 2012 New Holland L225 that is giving code 4951 "hydraulic interlock solenoid short to power". It started as intermittent problem and would fially resolve itself but now Everytime I start it it will count down from 30 seconds and die. I have found a solenoid that if I unplug it the machine will stay running but no boom functions. Plug it back in and does in 30 seconds. Any ideas?

I assume that the computer is seeing a more solid short that it wants, like if the winding is supposed to read between 20 and 25 ohms it is reading 10 it would give this error, I believe you will have to replace the interlock solenoid. unless the short is in the plug and can be fixed. this is a guess on my part. but at least you have the problem isolated to a single part.

We'll that's the thing, I did buy the $550.00 part from new Holland but machine does the same thing. As soon as I plug it in it counts down and dies. I can unplug it and it will run forever.

here I go guessing again but how many wires are on the plug? If there is just two I am stumped. But if there is more than two , it must have a short beyond the solenoid (like a safety feature switch wired beyond) ,you really need a wiring diagram to see what is going on.

There is only two wires. Any idea Where can I find a wiring diagram?

I saw some on ebay but to me they are kinda pricey. I was thinking when you plug in the solenoid you are completing a circuit and then it goes into a fault reading , what if you were to take a ohm meter and go on to one of the pins to the harness and see what it reads dc voltage when switch is on . ok the non voltage wire would be the out side of the circuit , you should be able to read it to ground and possibly where else that circuit goes. good luck

I was afraid you'd start talking some of that foreign language to me. ???? I will see if I can figure out how to do what your saying and get back to you. I really appreciate your help!
