Hello. I am new to the board. I just purchased a new holland L 553. I replaced an injector got it running and tried to drive it but the left side does not want to move forward. Right side is great. The catch is when you back up it does not want to move on the left side till you roll it back a little bit and it will catch and stall the engine right now. I have never been into the final drives on a skid steer. Is there a simple way to try a chain adjustment or is there a problem that is common on these machines. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

It sounds like the drive chain is broken. Drain the chain case and open the side inspection panel between the wheels. You may need a mirror and flashlight to check out everything. If the chain isnt broken and just has too much slack, the adjustment is on top of the case on the front with a simple lock nut and bolt setup. But........if there is so much slack causing lock up, I doubt there is enough adjustment to solve the problem. Inspect that chaincase close, the adjustment block can cause problems also.
