Filters have been changed, lines blown out still no rpm's. HELP!
nEW THROTTLE LINKAGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND NEW ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP A MONTH AGO. LINKAGE IS MOVING ON THE PUMP WHEN YOU MOVE THE THROTTLE IN THE CAB. dOES THE INJECTOR PUMP HAVE A SCREEN IN IT THAT MIGHT BE DIRTY? tALKED TO A DIESEL MAN AND HE SAID THAT IF IT IS IDLING PROBABLY NOT THE PUMP? iF IT IS THE PUMP APPROX COST TO REBUILD? tHANKSIt's hard to say without some more info. What you're saying is the machine wont throttle up? Is the throttle linkage working to the injector pump? If the throttle is working sounds like injector pump problems. Give us some more info so we might can help you out!
Is there any change at all when you try to throttle up? Any change in sound, does it attempt to throttle up or nothing at all? Linkage could be broken in the pump. All fuel filters clean? Look for a hidden in-line filter somewhere in the lines. Happened once to me, found a small in-line filter that was the culprit. As far as the pump goes, I don't know anything about them. Diesel shop should be able to rebuild, but I don't have any idea about cost. If you can get a service manual, it should show locations for all filters and any screens that you can check. It may have a breakdown of the injector pump too.nEW THROTTLE LINKAGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND NEW ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP A MONTH AGO. The fuel lines on an LX 865 come out of the tank to the filter housing/electric fuel pump, and then directly to the injection pump from there. Make sure that the electric fuel pump is running when you turn the key on. It may not be working and that will cause the machines to not run properly. Make sure the pickup tube is not plugged and there isn't a restriction in the fuel lines. What is the condition of your belly pan, I have seen them get smashed up into the fuel tank and the pickup tube makes contact w/ the bottom of the tank and not suck up the fuel properly. There are several little things that it could be. If it is the injection pump you will need someone that is familiar with the machines to remove and reinstall the pump. The pump is not keyed to the gear that drives it. There is a taper fit and a nut that hold it tight. If not timed properly things can go even further south in a hurry. The proper timing cannot be achieved without a special tool to determine the position of the injection pump, and reset the pump to that spot when it returns from the shop. Injection pumps that we have had rebuilt cost in the range from $600.00 to $1300.00 to rebuild.nEW THROTTLE LINKAGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND NEW ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP A MONTH AGO. The lines have been blown out and a new pump was put on about a month ago. Pump is running when key is on. Belly pan is in good shape but about 3 months ago I cut off about a inch off of the pickup tube so it was not sucking up any dirt and I make sure I keep enough fuel in it to keep it covered. I had a guy mention that if it is running he doubts that it is the injection pump. Any other small things that it might be before I tear into the pump? The fuel lines on an LX 865 come out of the tank to the filter housing/electric fuel pump, and then directly to the injection pump from there. It sounds to me like its an internal problem in the injection pump. If the lines are clean, the lift pump is pumping fuel, and the pickup isn't sucking to the bottom of the tank the only thing left is the injection pump. It may also be worth your while to have someone pop test your injectors to make sure they are up to par. I don't believe that this is the cause of your problem, but it will make life easier on the rebuilt pump if they are functioning correctly. The lines have been blown out and a new pump was put on about a month ago.
