I have a 642 that's making a loud pop or banging noise when I turn it on a hard surface, like concrete. Speaking as a seasoned auto mechanic, it sounds like a noise you'd expect from a stripped-out axle spline, but the loader operates good, notwithstanding this noise coming from the right/front corner, when turning hard. Are these axles known to strip out on the splines? Is there something bad in the drive motor? Could a bad or loose chain or sprocket make that bad of a bang? So what's the verdict ?? Thanks for any help on this.
