Need info on Kohler K582 engine

Hi all, I had to replace the oil dipstick tube with an aftermarket tube. I need to know the length of the dipstick tube from the top to the point where it enters the block. I would appreciate it if someone that has a 582 could measure the tube along its length for me. Thanks in advance.

Hi, do you still need help with this or are you done? ...I hope you got it finished... if not, engineer it. http://www.kohlerengines.com/onlinecatalog/pdf/en_607.pdf on page 55, you can see the dipstick entering the pan. That is the height you want it. Easiest method is to pour in 3.5 quarts and put the stick in until it measures full. Mark that and cut your tube. Otherwise try to make sure the bottom of the stick never loses sight of oil when top of low oil does not uncover the oil pickup. I hope these two methods help you in the right direciton. William
