What about the seat BELT switch? They go bad and are EXPENSIVE to replace. How about the RUN/SERVICE switch--is it the RUN position? The safety system electrically may be working but the mechanical part may be siezed or broken. If I recall correctly all New Hollands have a conrol valve that uses a solenoid that has about a 3/4” long x 1/8” dia. pin inside. When the solenoid is energized the pin retracts and allows the control valve to function. If it is bad or the pin is broken from someone really stepping hard on the locked pedal, it breaks off in the control valve spool. It's easy to find--look for two wires on the valve. Unscrew the solenoid and the pin should come out with it. If it doesn't look down inside the control valve spool and you can see it there. My dealer's mechainic showed me mine, and he siad that in an emergency the solenoid can be removed and a regular pipe plug (1/2” or 3/4” --not sure) can be used to prevent the fluid from shooting out once you run it. It's not wise to run without the solenoid for safety reasons. And I'll say it again---check the diodes in the engine bay's fuse box. They are black and rubberish and look like an “innocent” 2-wire trailer hitch electrical connector. They're $20 from the dealer. But I reworked mine for a mere 50 cents with a new diode from Radio Shack---part number 276-103 and some holt melt glue as a sealer. And when mine lows the fuel pump fuse tends to blow too. Check ALL your fuses for dirt and corrosion too. Replace them if they are the least bit dirty or corroded. I keep half a small ziplock sandwich bag with fuses in the machine and extra home-reworked diodes.
