I need a steering damper for a NL L445. NL has discontinued the part and it now states this (, Steering Damper, Converts Volkswagon to Monroe) on the website. Has anyone every replaced it this and has the aftermarket part number? Thanks in advance.

Probably the best option is to just google the part number; chances are there will be a NOS one on ebay, or at least the number will be referenced in the superseded item number.
If you get too many unrelated hits for same numbered stuff, add New Holland before the number in the search field.

The pics of the NLA used ones look like they come apart, so another gas spring can be modded to fit. The 259 number goes to a Toyota application, which should be readily available.
Further down in the google search was a result that came back to this forum from someone who did the mod; depending on your fab skills and available tooling you might check out this thread , and perhaps others that might show up.
