I have a Bobcat at 453 with a leak from the left rear axle that I am trying to diagnose.
I have attached a picture with a red arrow pointing to where the leak is. Is coming from where the axle housing on the chain case meets the body of the machine.
The engine compartment and compartment underneath the seat are completely dry. The leak only occurs when the machine is running and I'm pretty sure it is hydrostatic fluid.
I've looked for schematics online and it's a little bit of a mystery to me what is inside that compartment above the axle housing on the chain case.
Has anyone ever experienced a leak like this? I'm wondering if there is a hydraulic line back there that could be replaced. Of course other more complicated causes, like an internal failure of a drive motor could indeed cause hydrostatic fluid to enter the chain case, increasing chain case pressure.
I'm just wondering if there is a simple cause to this that anyone has seen.
