IN 2011 another user responded to a post of mine regarding the Bobcat 553 magnetic seat switch and told me then, "if you have a seat BICS you can lift the seat, take the sensor off the bottom of the seat , put it in the operate position and tape and strap it up so it tells the controller someone is always in the seat". We found a corroded terminal on that machine and got it going, but I'm having the same problem with another 553. Can someone PLEASE tell me what he meant by this because it means nothing to me as he wrote it. How do I put it the foot peddles in the "operate position??? HELP!!!

I found this, hope it helps. They work when a magnet comes in close proximity to the sensor. Now, the magnet must be is just the right spot to work. Sometimes the tangs that locate the magnet on the seat bar break or wear so the magnet does not always sit in the correct spot to activate it. If you turn the machine on with the sender connected and in hand, look at the dash and rotate the magnet till the light comes on..

Would one of those round super magnets work for that.
