Need a grapple

I'm looking for a new or used grapple. I have $2750 to spend.
It's primary use will be moving logs or split wood. I also have about 10 acres of land with vines, and roots all over.
I'm leaning toward a root grapple, but am open to a bucket grapple if the price is right.
I can get my hands on a used Bobcat bucket grapple for $2000ish plus tax. I really like the grapples on everythingattachments.com, and they're pretty reasonable. They have a new Root grapple for $2700 delivered.
Does anyone have an opinion on either?
Any other grapples I should be considering?
Thanks, Joe

What machine are you putting it on?
If you are looking to remove roots and stumps get something without bracing near the ends of the tines so you can penetrate the soil if needed. Many of the inexpensive grapples have a brace sideways from tine to tine near the front that severly limits penetration. Ok for just brush on top but not so good for sub soil work.
This is one of my recomendations, but we have others available in your price range.

It may not be the least expensive grapple but it is made with quality throughout. T1 steel construction allows the bracing to be placed further back on the tines allowing better penetration, cylinders in a protected location, abilty to back drag with the top jaw.
I personally use this grapple and have been quite happy with it. The only thing it won't do is carry several logs at once because of the short lower tine. But this design allows a lot of breakout force. Erskine offers several styles of grapples for various uses
