Hello I have a Mustang 930 A with a bad ignition switch, I wired up a toggle switch and it works fine but I'd like to get the charging system working. I think the power goes to the middle of the switch and there are 3 posts around the perimeter of the round back. I think as you trip the polls in the switch it sends power to these posts , each of which have a cluster of wires that power up various things like hour meter, fuel gauge, indicator lights etc. I have a black and a red wire coming off the alternator can anyone give me any information on how to wire up those so it will charge the battery?

I don't know this machine, but the switch should be close to a car. Off, on/accessories, start
If your machine has a mechanical shut off, you can start it be jumping the start section without powering the on/accessories part.
If you power different posts on the switch, see if you can power one that sends power to the excite pin on the alternator (small terminal).
Hopefully some of that made sense.
