Mustang 440 can you make the pump bypass?

Hard to explain what I'm trying to do or figure out. I had the idea of figuring out a manual release valve of some sort that will remove or reduce the drag the pump puts on my little air cooled starter. I'm not very familiar with the danfoss pump I have, I Believe I remember seeing something about a test port on the pump where you can see if it's functioning properly, if I found that port and looped it into the system would that make the pump loose pressure/resistance?

It may help some, probably is the charge pressure port you are thinking about, but as long as the pump is turning & can't be disconnected from engine the drag will be about the same
