I am about to put in my 3rd right side hydraulic drive motor. My left side has been fine for many years. From the beginning when I install another I notice it is weaker. Then it does not last very long and becomes almost useless. Am I missing something else here ? Thanks for any help.

Just a guess, could the right side motor be starved of fluid? In other words maybe there is a clogged line running to the motor so it doesn’t get enough fluid and then you could get cavitation in that motor.

Large line going to it but I will look at that. Thanks

Have u disassembled your drive motor to check for metal contamination, if you did post some photos. my guess is u have contamination coming from the hydro causing motor pre mature failure. are you buying oem replacement motors, i would be interested in the old motors

I guess contamination might be a problem but why just the right side. The left has been fine for all these years.

Left & Right sides are separate units, even tho they do share charge pressure oil. its not uncommon for one side to fail & not have any issues with the other side. take the hyd filters off & pour them into a clean container, check to see if u have brass or metal colored particles in the oil, it is a really good indication of hydro failure, especially if u have brass colored particles

just as a fyi there are oils that are not compatable with yellow metals, these oils are formulated with chlorine (like some gl-5 , gl-4 is safe), just as a example I know gl is not used in these systems. make sure of what you are using is correct in that system.
