Please appreciate that I have minimal mechanical knowledge so any assistance would be sincerely appreciated. The lift arms slowly drop on my old faithful Mustang 2050. It was suggested it may be a sticky hydraulic component not closing off but I have no idea where to start looking.

How quickly do they fall?
Have you replaced the seals in the lift rams? its the most common cause of the arms dropping.

Sincere thanks for your support. The lift arms 'Creep' slowly more than drop. In an earlier post I was requesting assistance with my Mustang 'Bogging Down' intermitantly. My own research suggested that perhaps this was happening due to a hydraulic valve not shutting off. Example: Aux control lever, pedal. I am definately no mechanic. I have not replaced seals in the lift arms as at this stage I was attempting to find the cause. Once again, many thanks for your input.

Creeping is a sign of leaky ram seals. They are cheap to replace. I get mine from the local seal shop, generally $25-$30 for all the seals to re-do a ram.
Its a way to eliminate the rams. Then you know they will be good for a few more years too.
Good luck finding the problem.
