So I had to replace the sprockets on my MT, in the process I made the right drive motor leak. I took it out and put all new seals in the motor. Motor runs like it should, but after an hour of running both sides are extremely hot. What is the operating temperature range of the motors/ hydraulic fluid range? I didn't see any temperature ranges in my service manual. After the machine cooled down for about 30 mins the drive motor was 120 on the left and 114 on the right. I was running the machine at full throttle bush hogging heavy stuff, not sure if this was the issue. I’m running the red/summer blend bobcat hydro oil in the machine. What would cause this? I feel like the put the drive motor back together correctly. The service manual said the motor would have a spring action to it, which it did before I tightened the bolts back down. I did install the greaseless rollers and idlers on it with a new set of tracks. Would this make the motors / oil hotter? Which I have torqued to 200ftlbs from the manual.

Secondly, does anyone know how to get the temperature sensor and gauge to work properly? Mine sporadically works. I’m not sure how to tell if I need a new sensor? I have a fairly new gauge on the instrument panel that I replaced thinking it might be the issue. Is there a better sensor to hook to instead of the one on the water pump?

If the tracks are tightened correctly, using the little gauge, then the new tracks should not be the problem. Brush hogging can overheat and put stress on the hydraulic system, because the machine shares the hydraulic oil with the hydrostatic side, it can get pretty toasty.
