I think it actually could be done.....
This would involve pulling the pumps apart though. The valve plates need to be swapped and the cam ring on the vane pump would need to be flipped over. The valve plates are my concern as they have cuts in them and MUST be installed so the rotation is in the correct direction. But i do think its possible...... This is me assuming the main hydraulic pump is s vane style, if its a gear pump its not so simple.

im wondering if it would be easyer to use the vg4d wisconsin motor due to only having to drop the vg motor 1in to make it line up to the hydrostat, and the vg has 37hp compared to 30 on the vh4d.the vg is 2in longer ,2in taller,3in wider.im not sure how it couples up to the hydrostat.the thing im looking at is its an older loader and how much is it worth .it has had all the drive motors replaced and new hyd pump on it .

The VG4D would be far easier, the extra HP would be handy but how far do you go?
Good luck with the swap/conversion, remember take pictures!

got skidloader home motor out and going to have buy a new flywheel with a bolt on flange and build a adapter and thats all its going to take to couple up the motor
what i found was i could rebuild the vh motor for $550 and have a new motor it was going to be $200 at least for the flywheel for the vg motor and i still would have a used motor that might not live.I am going to keep the vg motor for a spare in case i need it later. thanks
(if any one wants picts of what a bobcat 700 looks like without the motor in it email and i can send picts to an email address, cant get them to download to the forum.)thanks lance
