More on the Melroe 600m

Since I have had such good luck with my first question to the forum, I'll ask this next....... Sometimes it seems the battery isn't charging. There is no alternator and the manual suggests the wisconsin engine has a generator but illustrations are not clear on where this generator is located........I wonder is it inside the magneto like a snowmobile? Am I into an engine pull to diagnose this problem? Thanks, Cal [email protected]

My 610 has an alternator but my old OMC Mustang 1700 has the older Wisconsin which has the internal flywheel alternator. It had a shorted rectifier which burned the coil. A good friend had a junk pile with new old stock Wisconsin regulators and I rewound the old coils. Has been working 20 years!
