For a while now my MX-CRT23 R740D mini skid steer by AGT has been blowing blue smoke I have checked the oil level many times and cannot get a good reading. I put in the recommended amount of oil but the blue smoke persists, is there any other cause for blue smoke than too much oil? any help would be appreciated, thank you.

it is possible but unlikely, frequent oil changes with a high detergent oil might help too.,It might help if you got a rotating inspection camera and pull the spark plug and look at the cylinder walls for carbon buildup and scaring. If that is found additives wont do anything. of course a compression test would not hurt.

Why can you not get a "good reading" on the oil level? Park on a level surface and check the oil when it is cold. If it has a screw in dipstick, remove and wipe it clean and they screw it back in, then remove and read. Same procedure if it is a push in friction fit dipstick. Next question, do you haul it around on a trailer? If you do, be sure to shut off the fuel supply (if it has one) when transporting it. I have had a couple of engines where bouncing on a trailer will allow fuel through the needle valve into the crankcase. I also have a small Honda engine on a pump that will occasionally fill the crankcase with gas just sitting. Always a good idea to shut off the fuel supply when not using.

Blue smoke is oil and the question is whether
it's a nuisance or a problem. You can go for
years with worn valve guides (many beaters
I've owned, have).

Too much oil does magnify oil control problems.
If your engine has a lot of blowby and any kind
of crankcase evacuation you'll blue smoke that
gets more with load, and worse if no PCV to
meter that outflow. Bad intake valve guide / seal
will give you more smoke on hard decel (vacuum).
Suction leak vs pressure leak both pulling oil with.
