A magnetic pan heater wouldn't put the heat in the head where it's needed, but might be better than nothing. Not sure I really need one, but we occasionally hit -15F here in the southern Colorado foothills and I would like to be able to heat the block. Have block heaters on my T180 and 751 and love them. Few hours plugged in and they spin right up. ---Bobbie G.
Anyone know how to put a block heater on an 863? It has the Deutz oil-cooled engine, so I assume the standard block heater that installs through a freeze plug is not an option. I assume that the oil drains out of the radiator and into the pan when the engine is not running, since I get about 2-1/2 gallons out of it during an oil change. :-) ---Bobbie G.
