I just purchased a old M700. It was at some point repowered and no longer has the wisconsin engine. It has a problem where it will drag the rpms down to the point of dying when using the hydraulics or forward and reverse movement. but will snap back to full throttle as soon as you let off the controls. you can barely move the controls and it happens. Also I'm new to the forum and to these machine. Also is there a diagram for the controls for these around somewhere. Thanks

Make sure it's getting fuel your pionts are gaped right and your vacume advance is working
It has a newer 24 horse honda repower. Motor sounds fine to me. Just seems it is dragged down real bad by the hydraulics. just moving forward and reverse and just barely moving the steer will cause it to bog down.

the aux are in neutral position and when actuated they too will kill the motor. Filter is new
just tilted the cab foward to get a better look at things. I have have some lever questions. on the right side as when you are sitting on the machine there is a lever just behind the Right steering Stick. It has linkage that goes down the back side of the hydro motors. any clue what it does? its it bad shape and linkages are really loose.

No I have a 743 but if you replaced a filter that is the problem it has two

Just noticed the very large filter down near bottom just forward of the drive motors. I had only changed the top one smaller one. So do you think a bad filter would cause the hydraulic system to have a huge load on the motor?

It needs to be changed cheap and easy fix let us know

And yes that is where I would start
The linkages on the right side that go to both drive motors are for the two speed switching. I believe that to the back is low range and forward is high, I can't tell a difference on mine so I leave it toward the back. It is possible that if it is in high range it would rob power, as it is for travel mode only. Would be like starting out pulling a heavy trailer in third gear.

changed the large filter today...that was fun. although nothing changed. If I try to move the bucket or lift controls very slow it bogs till it dies. do it full fast movements it wont. Like almost a bypass/relief problem? are there adjustments?

Can you disconnect your oil cooler and blow some air to see if its pluged

You say it was repowered. What kind of engine did they put in? Gas or Diesel? It might be a problem with the governor if it is a hack job repower.

oops, sorry I see now it says Honda repower. I would think that would have a good governor, disregard my questions. sorry.

cooler is clear. The filters and cooler are on the feed side of the pump? Not seeing how they could cause kill the motor.
