I purchased a 610 that is in overall very good condition but has problems with the drive train. It will only creep along very slowly and will not turn. I drove it up on an equipment trailer (slowly) with out any issues and the belt is not slipping. The bucket hydraulics feel strong and pick up the front of the loader but I have not tried to lift any real loads.

The levers had some slop in them so I adjusted the clutches which tightened them up with the correct 3-4" of travel. When I popped the side covers off I found the levers were welded to the linkage arms so I know there is nothing going on with the lever splines. I suspected the clutches were worn but they look to be in decent enough condition which is making me doubt they were slipping.

I'm not sure where to look from here and want to make sure I've done everything I should while it is pulled apart. Any suggestions?

You never mentioned whether or not you put it in high gear. It can only be one of two things….clutches or belt. Belt width below 2 9/16 in low gear, the machine will barely move and though the belt does not appear to be slipping….it in fact is and will produce the results you are describing. Oily belt will do the same. Check to insure it is an OEM belt #6515271….some of these after market "610 belts"….are not.

Damn, I didn't try high gear before I pulled it apart as figured low would be all it needed. The belt is dry. I'll confirm the belt is the OEM P/N. What is the belt width dimension? The literal width of the belt or is that a measurement off of the variable drive? I need to replace the rear axle seals before I put it back together so it may be a couple weeks before I can test it.

Actual dimensions for that belt are 62 1/2 long…..2 13/16 wide. Again, if it falls below 2 9/16 wide it is time to change it out. Measurements are of the belt. The part number I gave you will be stamped on the belt. It's a job to change those seals and there are some very specific steps to take to make it seal correctly. Any questions we can walk you through it.

Appreciate the help. Clear on the belt dims now. I found this thread (http://www.skidsteerforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=54&frmView=ShowPost&PostID=97813) are there any others I should reference for the axle seals?
