Hello, I have a LX665, started the skid steer up today after about 4 days. Before I turned it over the oil pressure light was on and remained on after it started. Idled fine for a little bit and then died out. Now when I start it again the oil pressure light is on before it fires and then shuts off when it turns over. However when it starts it runs rough for about 10 seconds and then dies out. I read in the service manual that if there is low oil pressure the EIC will shut down the machine after 30 seconds to protect the machine. Could this be related to that? Just seems odd that when I restart it rough idles. Had no problems previously like this and the only changes I made recently was I installed a block heater and changed the fuel filters. I did the start up procedure after the fuel filters and ran fine for about about an hour after this before I parked it. Thanks

Verify that you have oil pressure with a mechanical gauge installed where the sending unit is screwed into the engine block. Once you've verified that you have oil pressure, you can begin troubleshooting the oil light issue. Disconnect the wire to the oil pressure switch and attach to ground using a jumper lead. The oil light should now be off. If the oil light goes off, then the pressure switch is bad. If grounding the lead doesn't turn off the oil light, there's another issue that will require investigation. A wiring diagram will be helpful if this is the case. I'm not familiar with the LX665 but the LX565 sending unit is directly above the water pump at the end of the valve cover. When testing or replacing the switch, ensure that the threads are correct, e.g. NPT or BSPT because they are very similar but will not interchange.
