LX 885 high speed inoperative on right side

Hello, I'm new to the site and I have a L783 and an LX885. The LX 885 high speed does not work on the right side. I am looking for any information as what could cause this.

I am working on a Lx885 with a similar problem, so I’ll be watching this thread. We had left side all apart because of “lurching” for lack of a better term in the drive. Found a lot of wear on the splines of the hydrostatic motor, the input shaft to the gearbox, and the coupler that connects them. We thing they may have been slipping and about to fail altogether. After checking the chains & sprockets, and cleaning the chain case, we are back together and blocked up off the floor to match drive speeds left and right. They are so much different that I don’t feel it is a simple hand control adjustment and I suspect I need to look at the two speed linkage, which controls the swashplate in either motor. I am trying to learn how to do that, and I will post back asI go along.

Sorry for the late followup. I did find the problem was in the adjustment of the linkage between the arms on each motor--the arms that move the motor's swash plate and change how fast the motor will turn with a given flow of oil. the holes in the arms are slotted where the dog bone shaped link attaches and after I loosened the bolts, I spread the arms apart and retightened the bolts. Lucked out with the first attempt; The difference in the speed of the wheels, left and right, is only about 1/10 of a second different per revolution. You would never notice it unless you were on a smooth floor or going down the road. Perfectly fine to clean the barn! Oliver

Oliver, thanks for the great information, right now this skidsteer is wrapped up for the winter, but I am anxious to dig it out and see if it corrects my issue also, it would be nice to have an easy fix for it. I don't think I would have found this out, I really appreciate your help!

Oliver, I finally got around to getting the LX 885 running, however I'm not sure on where exactly the link is located. I think I found it, but it didn't make a difference. If you could post a photo, or maybe let me know exactly where to look I can verify I'm in the right area. Thanks for the help, Scott

I have the same problem with my 885 sometimes the right side doesn't go into high and I have to keep trying it until it goes.
