Hey everyone I've been having a problem trying to get my lx 565 to start thinking mostly battery needs replaced but the problem comes with I can't get the machine to start at all. The battery has no power at all, can't even light up the dash lights without jumper cables hooked to the battery. Ive tried jumper cables from a truck which gets the motor to crank but barely and so slow that its not enough to start the motor. Ive tried battery chargers overnight still the same result. I'm sure that the machine will start just if it had enough power to crank over fast enough. I was looking if there was a way to replace the battery with out having to start the machine to raise the boom out of the way to get to the battery, I looked all over and haven't been able to find a answer wether that is possible. Was hoping that someone has been through this before and knew a trick on how to get the battery out with the boom in the lowered position. thanks

Do a search here for battery remove and a few posts come up, most say you must remove the cables from the bad machine battery and hook the booster cables directly to them . Try that first.

Its a PITA for sure if you don't have a way to lift the arms. An engine hoist at the rear cross member of the loader arms will lift the arms if you have the cables hooked up and someone in the seat to open the valves. Can also use a forklift or other loader in the same manner. I just use cables to start the machines if I can get to the posts. I have very large custom made cables that can start a machine with no battery. Beside getting it started or lifting the arms I don't know of an easy solution.

It's not good to do but just onetime shouldn't hurt it to just get it started to get the arms up..put the cables on and squirt a little e there in the air filter it will help it to turn over quick. Worth a shot, it helped me before..

Not good and not a good idea in my opinion. Ether has its place but these little diesels self destruct very easy.

Before I put glow plugs in I was using ether a lot, just a small squirt, no problems.. But don't go emptying a can of it in there lol. If you feel worried get a can of silicone spray, it's non flammable and works like ether..
