Hi I got a 04 NW ls185.b 1505 hours. My 1st problem: if sitting in the cab my the right bucket are goes out and the left one will not till the right arm has fully gone out, same when coming back in. The boom moves very well and increases speed with idle. I don't know much about this machine I just got it, I will try to answer any question as best as I can. Where would be a good place to start to figure out this problem??? 2nd problem: all the controls seem real tight. Could this simple just be needing some new bushings and grease? Was told has been sitting awhile. Engine fires right up and runs smoothly 3rd problem: there is a toggle switch that sits next to a few fuses and I have no idea what they are for or do. The electric in this has had to say the least shotty repairs by pervious owner, so I have been going through and repairing the wiring correctly. Thanks, Justin G.

You evidently have the cylinders unpinned from the faceplate. Oil goes to the place of least resistance and in this case the right bucket cylinder has less resistance than the left because of the line between the cylinders and since the oil reaches the right cylinder first. Completely normal......Your linkage is binding. May need to pull the foot pedals out so you can free them up.......Switch is the service/run switch. In the service position you can start the engine without being in the seat but the hydraulics are locked out.

Cylinders are not un pinned yet the front plate ripped apart.at the square tubing so. So I'm kinds confused on what is causing the cylinders to go out at different times. I get the path easiest traveled but there has to be something to fix or rebuild right???

The only place where you could get different forces acting on the cylinders is if the packings in one of the cylinders is bad. As long as the cylinders can move independently of each other and each has an equal load, the right will always extend first. I would look for a twist in the face plate as the cause of the failure. When the face plate gets twisted and the cylinders are completely retracted, the face plate will flex as it is pulled up tight against the boom and eventually causing something to fail.

So theory is as long as they move independent, when the plate is replaced, it should be good. It was just time from rust to rip it apart because there wasn't equal force push or pulling out. Also all hydro controls are real stiff just take it apart, clean it and greese it. Should that be all or should the two bolt bushing rust be replace? Also looks likes shocks under the seat should those be replace? Thanks for your help, time and knowledge. Never own a skid steer fastly learning about them.

If one cylinder is slightly tighter it will move slower. When hooked back up they will move the same.
