When removing engine noticed crank pulley and end of crank wobbled and moved just a little too much-crank broken between #1 rod journal and #1 main bearing. Bolt holding bearing holder between cyl #1 and #2 was broken and the holder was rotating in the block. As the cutout for bolts in bearing holder would align with the oil feed that was when the oil pressure would drop to zero. Thanks guys for the replies I will stay in touch with progress. Block, crank and kit on the way.

Hate to hear that is your head ok?
Yes head appears to be fine but will have a local shop do a valve job. Funny that the engine didn't have a knock. All four rods were driving the flywheel with the broken end only driving the crank gear, just sounded like a piston slap at idle.

Hate to ask but do you have a estimate of cost for parts? It seems like broken cranks are not uncommon for those engines, when I got my lx665 the engine looked very new and I thought that was a good thing. Now it is just a sign that the previous engine had real trouble.

Jerry- 1000 for bored block,700 for crank, engine kit 595. New Holland wants 9K for a reman most from rebuilders are 5500. First Shibaura I've had hopefully last one. Anyone know the serial # when the oil pump went to the larger shaft size? Thanks-Dale
