LS 185 dead LCD panel.

My 2006 LS 185 LCD readout of hours and fuel is blank after replacing the battery. I hope hours are recorded remote to the readout because this machine has only one hundred ...yes one hundred.... hours on it and no way to prove it. Any one have this happen or know what causes it or if I can fix it short of installing a new readout?
