Our T180 skid loader is signaling low oil pressure then shuts down. It will start back up and act ok for a short while, then repeats. I took it to the dealer and he immediately started in about a new engine and went on and on to the point that I thought i was being pre-greased. Here is my questions. It has 950 hours. I sense no loss of hp or rpms when cranked. there is no engine knocking. there is no engine smoking when running. There is no mixing of any fluids senarios. They said the sensor is good that they did a manual test and it is running 12 psi of oil pressure. any directives out there. gsmitty66

Considering the cost of a new engine I would go to another mechanic and have them check the pressure with a mechanical gauge. If it is low you may need to look into the oil pump or possibly a line loose in there but the new engine seems the last resort.

get a second opinion
Just because the pressure is low doesn't always mean its not just a bad pump. If its run while the pressure is low it will damage it.
With those low hours, it really shouldn't be low from wear. Does it come up with this error even when cold? or when warm?
If its cold, i would suspect the sender or pump. When its cold, the oil is thicker, when its warm is where you really need the pressure.
