Loss of hydraulics on 600 after pump rework, WTH?

While doing some repairs on my 600, I removed the hydraulic pump to address the worn out coupling spider. The coupling had been driving by metal to metal and worn quite a bit. It had a taperlock bushing style coupling that had screws only accessible after removing the supply and pressure lines from the pump and then unbolting the pump and removing it. The driving coupling from the distributor on the Wisconsin only had 2 of the 3 bolts holding the coupling so it had been tightened at an angle and wobbling around on the shaft, causing wear. I could not find exact nor suitable parts to replace the couplings so I had to dress some of the damage the metal parts had done to each other and place the remaining "good" rubber arms of the spider in position to take the pressure of driving. I was able to swap the coupling bushings from the taperlock assemblies and finally obtain tightening on the drive from the distributor. After restarting the machine, I have no pressure coming from the pump to the controls. I had expected the pump to be self priming. I have added excessive oil to the reservoirs, taken the lines loose and put oil into the pipe fittings, pressurized the side tanks and blown oil into the pump from both pipes, but have obtained no pressure, at least to the lift and tilt controls which are all I use. I didn't/couldn't change the hydraulic system filter for limited access and counter hold of the housing from above. I doubt that filter has ever been changed, but the hydraulics were functional before this bushing saga began. I'm open to suggestions at this point. Thank you friends.
