Looking for used skidsteer- are there any attachments the older machines can't run?

I am looking for a 743 or 753 type of machine. These seem to be older and more in my price range. Are there things these machines can't run or do compared to the newer models? I would like to run a backhoe, auger and possibly a rock hammer for limited use. But most importantly, I want to limit my search to the better used models. Also, is ebay a good place to hunt, or am I better off somewhere else? Thanks

If you want a project machine , have a 743 thats complete , it's not running , but is a very simple machine that could be easily made right , also have a backhoe attachent that is just about mint , very few hours on it , it's in New Orleans and can be had cheap

I found mine locally on craigslist, it is just like looking for any other items, make sure you know what and who you are buying from. Take a friend who can inspect along with you to see what you may miss, a second opinion doesn't hurt. There are scams almost everywhere you look now days so be cautious.

I've used Ebay to help me gauge what machines are selling for in that arena. There are lots of machines there to see, but for me, I'm not likely to buy one that I haven't personally seen and tested. The ones that I have gone to test I have found that an indiviual's opinion on a given machine can vary greatly. The more you can educate yourself the better off you'll be, and this forum is an excellent tool for that.
As mentioned, Craiglist is another good source for machines. Just be aware that there are numerous obvious scams there. You just can't buy a 2005 machine for $8000. Use search words like New Holland, Bobcat, skid steer, skidsteer, etc. There are also a significant number of attachments there as well, including a backhoe now and then.

I believe a 743 or 751 will run all those attachments without a problem. The rock breaker, i believe the 743 would have enough flow but you need to make sure you buy one that suits the flow. Honestly, the 743 machines are idiot proof, dead simple to repair, 751 on wards have electronics integrated into them. Still fairly basic but expensive to repair or replace.
For a breaker i would advise a 751 on, as the aux hydraulics is operated by your thumb and not an entire lever. You can still do it that way, i just believe it would wear you out a bit faster.
