Since rebuilding the 630 I've noticed a couple small leaks on the lift cylinders. I'm going to plan on replacing the seals and want to try an keep things as clean as possible now that it's back together and painted. I'll use Taz's method of draining as much fluid as possible with the aux connectors but when I disconnect the hoses I'd like to thread plugs back in to keep as much fluid as possible from leaking out while the cylinders are off. Does anyone know the size plugs I would need for this? Thread type?
Also am I right in assuming once the pins are out I should be able to pull the cylinder forward enough to gain access to the hose fittings?

You don't have to drain the main tank, When I did mine I unhooked the hoses in the engine compartment and placed a small bucket there to catch the oil in the cylinders, Then I raised the lift arms enough to drop the arm end of the cylinders,I then pushed the rams in and out a couple times to run the oil in them into the bucket,Unscrewed the gland nut and removed the ram, replaced all the seals and put it back together without ever taking the cylinder tubes loose form the machine, everybody has their own way doing these, this is just my way (may not be the correct way)

I took a look and see what you mean. Are you saying when you disconnected the hoses from inside the engine compartment oil only drained from the lift cylinders not where they connect down low?
I would have thought because of gravity oild would come pouring out? Unless there is a valve that keeps that from happening?

The lift cylinders are up stream of the main control and therefore isolated from the rest of the system when the control is in neutral, so you could even drive the machine with the cylinder disconnected, providing you did not touch the pedals.

Thanks Skid that will be a huge time saver not having to drain the system and being able to move it if needed
Machine is looking pretty good, even up close, I'm gonna hate to let it go

Yup, somebody lucky is going to get themselves a really nice, sorted out machine. Too bad you didn't live closer, I don't think the wife has bought me a Christmas present yet - lol.

As has already been mentioned, the oil will not pour out of the tank for the cylinders. The oil passes through the valve first, without the pedals being moved, no oil will flow.
You are right that if you disconnect the lines, knock the pins out and jack the front up that the lift rams will slide out. Ensure you put a jack under the rear too. When you jack the front up, the rear will tip down, if you have a jack there it will lift just fine. Ensure everything is secured with chains too, you don't want it falling on you!
