Hi,
I currently have an 863F and the voltage is a steady 12.00 at the battery and off the back of the alternator.
In past months I have seen the voltage spike and I shut it down then it wouldn't spike the next day.

Any insight on if I should replace the alternator, or just the regulator on the alternator. And does anyone know specifically what the two wires on the plug do to the alternator? I was wondering if that has anything to do with a changing load on the charging system.

I would look at the tag on the alt. and see if you can get one over the net.vs. one furnished from bobcat. then take the old one to a alt. repair shop and see if it is salvageable, if so have it repaired and put it on the shelf as a spare. Reman. alt.s you never know how long they will last, but as a spare they are good enough if needed. just a opinion.
