I've got a S185 and the hour meter only shows the top or bottom half of the numbers. Weird thing is its not always the top half or bottom half. Priced one out at Craig Taylor in Wasilla and they want near $500 bucks for a replacement. Anybody experience this or know if someone can repair it. I took the rubber plugs out of the back of the unit and let it air out overnight in front of a heater thinking there might be moisture in it but that didn't do anything. Machine is an 02 or 03.

I show a new one @$ 342.05 frt can't be that much
Re: hour meter? I have a s185 and have owned the machine for about 2 years now use it around my place just to move junk around once in awhile I bought the machine from an individual contractor that bought it used too, he bought a track machine so I bought this from him with 1956 hours on it I sent my brother to my house today to load my fuel tank onto a trailer and he called me and said how did you put that many hours on your machine? I thought what are talking about so I asked him and he said this thing has 8339 hours on it I told him no it don't I just serviced it 2 months ago and it had 2303 on it says it right on the filter I replaced and I found the old filter in my oil drain pan that has 2194 hours on it so I know I'm right and its wrong how did this happen? And how do I fix it? I am stumped this machine has never given one problem I also have the receipt from when I put 4 new tires on it at 2287 hours? 4/17/2013 Thanks
