left drive hydraulic pump

Long story short. Took the pump off to have it tested since left side was moving slow. It tested great, found the hydraulic leak. Installed pump and LEFT STICK IS REVERSED! Changed the hoses around (pain in the butt), same thing left stick forward is reverse. I'm about to pull my hair out. Any help would be great. Thank you.

So it will drive either direction correct? I have had plenty of hydros apart and cannot think of what could have been revesered in the assembly to cause it to run backwards. I hate to say thing, but I'd look at the hoses again. I think you didn't actually swap them, but accidentally hooked them up the way they were before. Generally top hose on the pump goes to top hose on motor. Bottom to bottom.

I tried hoses BOTH ways, forward is backwards vice versa. I didn't touch ANYTHING else. I just do NOT understand what has happened.

Right stick works as should. Forward us forward, back isnreverse. Left stick is backwards. Left forward isnreverse, left back is forward. If i hold left back and right forward it runs straight true and fast. Left forward right back, it goes in reverse straight and fast.

How does the fluid flow. And is there something that I may have knocked off/ disconnected/ broken to cause this issue. I see nothing wrong.

If it works in both direction, the hoses have to be crossed. Put oil to one side of the motor, it spins one way, put oil to the other side, it spins the other way. Its that simple. I can't think off a way you could have flipped anything around in the hydro to make it work backwards. We've all made mistakes. Disconnect the hoses at the motor and flip them. As long as they don't fight you, leave them connected at the pump so you know for sure you have actually switched them around.
