Hello skid steer folks,
I’m looking to clarify some details on my New Holland L553. Wanting to add attachments that will need hydraulic control, but I’m not fully sure I’m understanding the setup I’ve got.
Looks to me like my loader has a ‘Boom Hydraulics kit’ (021a) . Which appears to be the name they gave to the valve and hoses needed to provide hydra link to bucket attachments.
Mine is missing the hoses that run along the boom. Everything goes as far as parts 31 and 16 on the diagram. And also missing the control cable, parts 2 and 3.
I’m trying to understand if this valve is for sure a 3 way, and how the Handle controls it all.
My thought is the pin (part 11) is used to hold the handle (part 8) stationary when no attachment action is needed. Then to control the attachment, the pin is removed (placed in top hole for safe keeping) and the handle can move up or down, thus shifting the cable and changing the flow of the valve?
I might mess around with using some vice grips to control the valve and see if it operates? But I’m currently missing the control cable plus coupling, and all related parts for the hoses that run along the boom.
I've added some pictures of what I'm working with.
Any help or insight is much appreciated.
