I have a 2014 L220 Tier4B unit with hand and foot controls and am working on getting the neutral steering adjusted correctly. When I loosen the two bolts on one side of the Hydrostatic drive pump the control handle falls forward and fully engages the drive. Do I need to disconnect the control rod so that the valve can find its neutral position prior to securing the adjuster bolts?
When I first started the procedure I loosened all 4 bolts and the wear plate snapped back under its return spring force to its fully retracted position. Is this the normal neutral position or does this plate get some preload forward to give the controls more return force?
