Well I figured I would post here to see if someone has an answer. I have a 2008 L185 with 2 speed. Super clean and only 1700 hours. This is the issues that has developed. In order to start the machine you have to get in, clip in the seat belt, start cranking and the hit the parking brake button while cranking. If you dont hit the parking button while cranking it wont start. Once running everything on the machine is perfect or issues at all. The other part of this story you cant get out of the machine without turning off. You can leave the machine on and unbuckle your seatbelt, but the second you get up off the seat the skid steer turns off. I have changed the 3 diodes up by the fuse block. I have changed the seat switch and seat belt with new Holland parts about 2 years ago. I did that as i thought a bad parking brake solenoid was possibly due to seatbelt /seat switch which it was not. The seat switch works as functions as everything i sit down it beeps and lights up the dash. I can use the machine but its a pain to start for some of my guys and since you cant leave it running to get out and do something every time you get in and out you have to deal with this. Any tips or help would be great. I will try ohming the harness and checking for wear but its all wireloomed after I replaced it. Thanks!

Not sure what button you are pushing, since there is not a parking brake button. There is a switch on the aux spool of the control valve. The switch is there to prevent the operator from leaving the seat while the aux hydraulics are being used. Leave the seat and the engine dies. Pressing the aux button on the instrument panel before exiting the seat will allow the engine to run so you can operate attachments like a backhoe. If the aux handle is not in the neutral position or if the switch on the control valve is defective or if there is a open wire the engine will not start. Power goes through this switch to the injection pump solenoid. Never tried pushing the aux button when the unit would not start because the aux handle was not in neutral, but it would make sence that the engine would start.

You said "hit" the parking brake button, do you mean constant pressure with your finger on the button while cranking? Also, on my 2010 L185, with the engine running, if I open the door or unbuckle the seat belt my parking brake automatically applies so the engine will stay running but of course I loose hydraulics. Sounds like an oddball problem in the parkbrake circuit. It will be interesting to know what you finally find.
