L170 - needs a long time to start

My L170 needs a long time to start up. It turns and turns and then slowly the engine starts over and then eventually it starts up. Also need to keep it at high rpm. If I turn to lower rpm she shuts off. Newer wix fuel filter. Any ideas? It feels like there is a low pressure in the fuel line and it needs to build up pressure before it turns over. Once it runs she runs well. Any ideas?

check your fuel lines before the fuel pump you could have a vaccum leak, and leaks back after turn off causing the hard start.

yea your fuel is returing to the tank install a check valve in return line
