I have a 2000 JD250 skid. When temps are below freezing my wheels on the right side won't release even though everything else does when parking brake is disengaged. If it is above freezing everything is fine. Only way to get it to break free is to let it run for about an hour and bounce it back and forth on right side. Any ideas?

I am kinda wondering if you have water somewhere that is freezing, have you checked the chain oil for water? cause even though oil will thicken it does not freeze

I second checking chain case,a s if you have enough water in there it can turn the water to ice and that can stop gears or??
and water in oil is never good for long life of parts the water comes in contact with!
also pending brake design there could be water in the brake system too, which can cause one side to freeze up, had this happen on a NH skid steer a few yrs back,

it would not take much water to freeze in a chain case to lock up the drive, especially if well mixed with the oil into a slurry, worth checking a easy check is park machine with the front or back wheels on a 4x4 to get all the oil to one end there should be a drain plug

You should be able to remove this plug on the opposite side and use a suction gun to remove an oil sample. If you suspect it is full of water you may want to put a pan or bucket underneath.
