Good to hear it worked out well, can i ask what did the kit run you?my 853 Isuzu engine lost compression at 5000 hours, we purchased a lower rebuild kit, came with sleeves, pistons and rings plus all bearings, seals and gaskets, ran 200 hours since rebuild and purrs like a kitten
I priced out the parts at Bobcat, a cylinder, piston rings were 400 per cylinder, yes its not original but a US shop on ebay sold a complete lower kit for 600US shipped to Canada, the tricky part was installing the liners, ended up getting some dry ice in a cooler, put taking a liner, took a ziploc bag inside the liner filled with dry ice then put the liner in a ziploc and into the cooler, let it sit half hour, with gloves remove the liner leaving the middle bag in and it slid in the block like slick, once in pull the bag from center, I took a aluminum plate over the liner and hit it with a hammer just to seat down.Good to hear it worked out well, can i ask what did the kit run you?
Nothing wrong with after market parts, some are just as good as OEM, just cheaper.I priced out the parts at Bobcat, a cylinder, piston rings were 400 per cylinder, yes its not original but a US shop on ebay sold a complete lower kit for 600US shipped to Canada, the tricky part was installing the liners, ended up getting some dry ice in a cooler, put taking a liner, took a ziploc bag inside the liner filled with dry ice then put the liner in a ziploc and into the cooler, let it sit half hour, with gloves remove the liner leaving the middle bag in and it slid in the block like slick, once in pull the bag from center, I took a aluminum plate over the liner and hit it with a hammer just to seat down.
