Is this normal?

Last year I built a log splitter for my 743 with a open port valve on the splitter so I could use it from the ground, It worked great. This summer I had a leak on the aux spool so I rebuilt all of the spools and all seems well, Yesterday I was using the splitter and every time I hit a hard piece or if I bottomed the cyl out where it had to bypass it would raise the lift arms about 1/2in. Is this normal or did I do something wrong in the rebuild of the spools. I did not have the relief valve out, Just quad rings on the spools. Larry

Odd, it shouldn't have been the cause. If your neutral for your lift is slightly out it can divert a little oil to the lift rams. Are your pedals tight at all? was the bar under the pump easy to move?
All i can think is something may be tight putting a slight load on the spool making it move when the aux bottoms out.

Thanks for the reply Tazza, No linkage adjustments were made, Just unhooked at the spools and moved enough to get to the front seals, Pedals are not tight nor is the linkage to the pedals, Everything is fine with using the bucket, forks, or the little homemade hoe (if it does it when this cyl. bottoms out I don't notice it). I only had one spool out at any one time so I know I didn't get in the wrong place. It may be just one of those little things that I have to live with.
