I understand the 7pin is a can bus type system, but I read somewhere that you shouldn't use the 7 pin to supply power to a non bobcat type attachment.
Here's the background/question: I have a hydraulic winch box that has a power/ground (red/black) wire that powers the solenoids that control the winch in/out functions. When we built/tested the setup, we used a John Deere 331 skid steer. We ran the red/black wires down the loader arms and connected them straight to the machines battery.
I bought a 7 pin adapter thinking I could just wire the solenoid red/black wires into the adapter and plug it into the machine. However, I can't find a schematic and ever since I read that comment about potentially frying something on the machine I'm a little gun shy.
The comment did mention lifting the cab and using an accessory connector near the left side pumps
So can I just wire into the harness adapter I bought or should I look for a power source under the cab?
Any help would be appreciated.
