I'm trying to connect to owner/ operators and technicians to learn more about problems and opportunities with SkidSteers and CTL's

welcome to the site

I'm going to say, IMO< the modern equipment today, costs too much, over emission-ed, and electrical gadgets, all things that honestly don;t add to longevity of them, and for the prices modern equipment costs
it should be lasting 10 times what the older stuff does, to justify there price tags, but they don't!

I'd bet you will find a lot of older folks, would love to see old time tech return, machines slightly over built, and simple that any idiot can work on! and at prices, most could afford !
same could be said I bet about pickup trucks too! 60-100k for a pickup truck that rusts away in the salt belt in a few yrs regardless of use, is a crime ,
and there all over priced for how long they really last problem free, if they cost2 or 3 times what they used tooI
The warranty should have also increased 2-3 times, to show there are actually worth the added higher prices! MO

Don’t get me started on EGRs on any diesel these days, a ticking time bomb.

All you need to know is that they are money pits....just like boats and you need to figure their repairs into every job.
Mrbb hit the nail on the head...only thing I would add is the OEM parts price gouging that is allow to continue unchecked in American industry. And lets not forget being locked out of the Machine/Truck/Automobile computer systems by manufacturers so we cant diagnosis and make our own repairs.
LAWS NEED TO BE ENACTED!

to the OP
you should really start a new thread on your question, this is mostly for introductions, and not many will read them, to see your question

but I will also add this, as I gather your looking for a way to make money off supplying something for machines in need,

and with that I would honestly say, figure out a way to get /make, discontinued parts for the older most popular models

as time is passing, more and more older machines no longer have parts available for them, yet the machines are in good condition, just aged out of MFG"s making parts for them, IMO< because they don;'t want you using the older machines and want to sell you new machines, so they can make more profits!
not to mention, how many older NON emission engines are almost impossible to get parts for, or replacement engines

figure out how to supply these things, and I would think there is a market for them, might not be huge demand, but there are always folks looking for discontinued parts
and from what I hear, OEM's are discontinuing parts sooner than ever, like after 10 yrs, no more parts! minus inventory

to home owners and likes that tend to keep stuff, that's a big deal IMO!
