I have a Bobcat 542B skidsteer. The hydrostatic pump was opened and now needs the air purged to make it operate. How do you do that?

I have a 720 and my service manual says to plug the hydraulic resevoir vents, then make up a hose connection for your fill tube and presurize the tank to a MAXIMUM of 15 psi, then loosen the hose fitting at the top of the pump unitl oil starts to flow. Close it again and restore the vents.
I imagine but can't confirm the 542 would be similar principal.

It should self purge, just run it for a little while, shut down and let the bubbles settle out. Depending on how much air is in there, it may take a few days.
