Hydraulic fluid question

I'm restoring an 873 f series, the manual is saying 25-30 gallons of fluid is needed, there's 10 remaining in chain case, should I remove that before filling or just add to it? How much is this going to cost. Any recommendations on fluid type and where to purchase. TIA.

Honestly, if you're in this deep, you may as well change the chain case fluid too.
I just run plain 'ol engine oil. I live in an area that never gets below freezing, so i can run pretty much any cheap engine oil. Generally 20W50 or 15W40. I recently picked up a heap of 15W40 that was stupidly cheap.
