I was told the machine I bought from the seller it was a 610. I later wire wheeled the ser. tag, and its about entirely worn off. All I can get is 65844, big space then 600. Called dealer and said thats not ser# and should start with a 4. Very important I correctly identify what it is. I just ordered a $800 driven sheeve assembly and half jack shaft. Its very model specific and need to know to pick up these parts or not?

Does it have a VF4D or a VH4D? Do the hubs have a recessed center area and use bolts or a thick hub with studs? If you need the serial #....look under the right hand side viewing panel between the top two forward most studs.....the #will be stamped there. Did your machine have a straight or tapered half shaft? I believe that's the only difference and you can change to the tapered with no problem.

Ive been calling it a VH4D, but how can I verify? Hubs are solid flat, and have been worn/rigged with some bolts but I wanna say studs overall? Couldnt find anymore on the serial number. I bought a whole new clutch and half shaft so id imagine it would work either way when installed together.

For the engine…..check the distributor lobes…..if they are equally spaced at 90 degrees it is a VH4D, if they are not equally spaced it is a VF4D. I think you have a 610 due to the axles. The best way to be positive if the ID plate is gone is to look under the right hand chain case access panel between the two forward most upper studs there will be a six digit number stamped there ….. that is the serial # and if it begins with a "2" it is a 610.

Clutches are all interchangeable ….. you can use the 'tapered' shaft in either machine provided you have the sheave half that fits that style shaft.
