How do you value this relic???

If nothing else this will give you a good chuckle! I have a 1982 Koehring Skat Trak 2250 with a 60hp Kubota diesel. It runs,drives, and operates surprisingly well for a rig of its age. It has a 2000 lb. lift and 4000 lb. tip rating. I put all new axle seals,changed ALL fluids and filters,put 4 new tires and wheels on along with new studs and lug nuts. I put a new aluminum rad. and new water pump in also. It has foot controls and aux. hyd. In overall decent cond. with faded paint and little rust. How do I put a value on this piece? There isn't many of these to compare it to so I need help getting a fair price on it. I'm looking to upgrade,but want to sell this one first! Thanks for the help!!

If you can't find the same model machine to get an idea of what others advertise them for is to look up prices for another brand of machine with a similar lifting and HP rating. You may need to drop a little for the age, but not too much.

Do you think 5-6k would be in the ball park? If so is there much of a market for "old iron"?

I'd have thought a bit more, age isn't as big of a deal as some people think. If the hours are low and it has been looked after, age doesn't really matter. Even if the hour meter doesn't work, it starts easily, has lots of power you can over look the 'old iron' bit.

I think Tazza is right. Seen absolute junk sell for 4000 around here, look through machinery trader for comparison prices or even ask the local dealer what he would sell it for on consignment just to get a value. 5 to 6 seems low unless I were buying it then it would be fine.
