High idle with diesel smell and smoke on a skid steer323E

Just purchased this skid 323e a few months ago and now when started the rpm on the idle is about 1800 with a strong diesel with a bit of exhaust smoke. I changed the exhaust filter but it did not help. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could be a bad injector.

I would check the turbo for excess oil on the intake side

Not sure if you found your answer already but if you unplug the left sensor in the exhaust filter as you're facing the engine and the idle settles down it will be a bad sensor reading.
