I just joined the forum as with all things I own or collect its best to go where the information is I'm in the market for a skid steer so where better to get the knowledge I need than here. I have a couple classic mack trucks I restored and will probably pull the skid steer around with a small trailer behind one of them. I'm leaning toward new Holland but want a mechanical version no computer or emissions crap can anyone tell me the cut off year for the mechanical version of the new Holland machine?

Welcome to the site
You would be better off to post the question in the new holland area, if you want all mechanical, you will be going back a few years. Mike10 knows his machines, he may even advise a model with electronics, but there was an old and new version. The upgraded version was much more reliable.

Welcome to the Forum RanchHopper, so we own a 96 Lx865 Turbo, to my knowledge the only “evasive computer” is the dash, i assume all LX and LS models have the same basic and general set up so i would say maybe Around the 2004 tor 2005 year would be when started implementing heavily atleast the tech don’t know much about the emissions. I think the LS is just an updated LX. I hope this helps !

More is better so, LX series range from 1994 to 1999 for example a LX885 and the LS Series from 2000 to 2004 for example a LS185B, the latest model for this style of skid steer is the L series the L series, this model seems to have more technology implemented in relation to the latter and former series an example of this series would be a L185. Now if you are worried about emissions and electronics: I advise you stay away from the new L200 Series! We onw one and it’s got so many “new” bottoms (compared to our LX) an example of this would be a L230. Now of course the newer the model, the more one will get in terms of Rated operating capacity, Max pin height, Operating weight and horsepower so it’s really up to you if you want less complexity and “less” capabilities or more complexity and “more” capabilities. Hope this helps in your search for a NH skid steer!
