Help with possible purchase

Greetings! I am new to the skidsteer market...looking at a 751 Bobcat, with heated cab and bucket, 750 hours and asking 9500. Not sure which motor is in it, I will be asking. Apparently these people have had it for only a year, used for their snow shoveling business, but found they didn't use it that much as they have two other machines. I want a skidsteer for our small horse farm, to move snow in winter around the barn as well as our fairly long drive that tends to drift in the windy winter. We can't push the snow to the side of the drive very well with just our truck due to a hill on one side. The bobcat would be handy to move manure during the summer months also, and we have some landscaping to do. Does this model seem to fit my needs? Is it fairly reliable? Thanks for any input you have..

I wouldn't trust those hours. That machine is around 20 years old. If its original, it will have a pug engine, parts are expensive and harder to get. The engine runs smooth and lots of power. As long as you don't let it get hot and service the timing belt, they do last. If the belt fails, it does create a fair amount of damage.
The machine i think would do all you need, you may need chains for grip in the snow though.

How about a 2003 753 with 1700 hours? It also has a cab with heat. I don't have too many more specs on this one, other than it is 43.5 HP and is a 2600 load capacity, being offered for $12.500.

753 is a good machine...kubota motor and dang near impossible to break. Asking price is $12,500? Seems a touch high, at least here in Illinois. For that I would expect it to be a G-series machine (if it has triangle headlights, its a G-series, rectangular headlights indicate an F-series or older)in great shape, very good tires and not need a thing to got to work. By the way the tipping load on a 753 is 2600lbs, its rated at 50% of that - 1300lbs.

The 753 is a well sized machine for what you are needing. The price is high. For the money you should be able to get an S185 a stronger more popular machine.
